Ballina Vet Hospital refurbishment

Racecourse Road Vet Hospital contacted Elite to assist with the expansion and refurbishment of their practice in Ballina, northern NSW.

Ballina Vet Hospital refurbishment

The Ballina vet hospital was originally an old house converted into a vet surgery 16 years ago, with no refurbishment work carried out in the past 16 years.  The owners wanted to expand and add an extra consult room, reconfiguring the layout to fit the hospital’s needs as well as providing separate dog and cat wards.

The vet hospital’s promise is that your fur family will be treated “as if they are their own”, with the practice providing a ‘fear free” experience for both clients and patients.

Elite’s methodology was to complete the project in three stages, so that the vet hospital’s operations were not affected.    The Elite team worked their construction times around the practice to minimise the impact on the team and their patients.

“From design to completion we were blown away by the level of organisation.   We did not close a single day during the construction process. Rachelle Beardsworth, part owner and practice manager of Racecourse Road Veterinary Hospital.

Refurbishment Stages

Stage 1 included the demolition and fitting out of the steri/surgery areas, prep and recovery, laundry and imaging spaces of the practice.

The second stage involved the refurbishment of the separate cat and dog wards, consult/physiotherapy room, PWD/shower areas and administration areas.

Stage 3, the last stage of the project, involved the refurbishment of the reception/waiting areas and two consult rooms.

“The level of organisation within the Elite team was astounding.  Watching them orchestrate every transition with builders, plumbers, electricians etc.  We transitioned smoothly through three stages.  It was amazing to watch!”

The vision for the refurbishment was to provide a better flow and allocation of space, as well as creating a warm and inviting space.   Shades of blue, grey and white from the hospital’s logo feature throughout the fitout, maintaining the brand aesthetic throughout the practice.

The reception desk features rich walnut wood complemented by fresh white accents. The light wood flooring works well with the rich, crisp colours to provide a welcoming reception area.

“The styling is everything we wanted.   The Elite team provided feedback based on our original thoughts and we couldn’t be happier.  Our clients love it!”
