South East Queensland Sport and Exercise Medicine

Elite is pleased to share our collaboration with South East Queensland Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEQSEM) which culminated in the creation of a sanctuary for specialist medical care nestled on the water’s edge at Varsity Lakes, QLD.

The goal was to strike an harmonious balance between the clinic’s operational functionality as well as the care and comfort of its patients. We adopted a minimalist approach, selecting a subdued palette of warm whites, soft beige, and complementary neutrals. These deliberate choices in finishes and materials lent an air of cleanliness and serenity to the environment, essential for fostering a sense of well-being and quality care.

One of the standout design features is the central hallway, which not only guides patients but also adds a touch of dynamic movement and depth through its elegant curves. Greenery is integrated into planter boxes and bulkheads, bringing a touch of nature indoors. Natural travertine tiles grace the reception area, while locally crafted wall light fixtures contribute an organic and handcrafted appeal to the space. Venetian plaster, timber-grained laminates, and recessed LED strip lighting is strategically incorporated to create a luxurious ambiance, rich in visual interest, warmth, and texture. The amalgamation of these elements results in a sophisticated atmosphere, aligning the clinic’s delivery of exceptional specialist healthcare with a well-being environment.

The SEQSEM clinic, spanning 155m2, offers uninterrupted vistas of Varsity Lake from every consultation room thanks to full-height external glazing. In the staffroom, a corner view overlooking the water provides a serene escape when sitting at the kitchen bar. The clinical sterilisation room and treatment area are thoughtfully situated side by side behind the reception and administrative zone, ensuring seamless workflow and patient care.

In essence, the SEQSEM clinic is more than just a specialist medical facility; it’s also a sanctuary of well-being and care located in beautiful natural surroundings.
