High End Dental Fitout In The Melbourne CBD

Elite recently delivered a dental design and fitout project for Melbourne Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the CBD, on the 6^th level of an inner city building.

Construction Approvals

Working closely with the client, Elite developed the design documentation and procured all landlord and construction approvals to ensure the project proceeded smoothly.  The dental practice is located within a “high end” Melbourne CBD building. Processes were implemented to mitigate any potential issues caused by the fitout in relation to site access and tenant disturbance.

The Elite team negotiated arrangements with the building manager to avoid any delays. The project met relatively tight timeframes, with the new clinic ready before the client’s existing premises lease expiry.

Bright, Welcoming Space

In their previous premises, Melbourne Oral & Maxillofacial had city and bay views from most consulting rooms and ample natural light.  The new facility did not have the view or the natural light so Elite worked with the client to create a bright, welcoming space with a prestigious flair.  

New Layout

The layout of the reception and waiting room maximises patient comfort and streamlines traffic flow throughout this busy space.  A dedicated area for booking and payment separates the check in and check out process, with seating provided for patients and families.

The new practice includes four consult rooms, OPG, administration and staff rooms, and a large reception/waiting and booking area with an overhead virtual blue sky and cloud image skylight.   The vertical planter boxes add a touch of greenery to the reception area, complementing the printed grass splash back featured in the waiting area. 

The four procedure rooms are close to the sterilisation room. This makes it easier to transport used surgical instruments directly to the sterilisation area, and away from patient areas.
