Elite recently completed the design and fitout of a two-level, 240sqm vet hospital in one of the inner-city suburbs of Melbourne.  Local pet lovers own and staff the hospital.

The owner wanted an open and modern reception area to welcome their existing and new clients. It was important to provide an environment that reflects the warm and friendly service provided by the hospital.

The inner-city vet hospital fitout features a consult/grieving room, dog and cat treatment rooms, surgery, and imaging. There is also a sterilisation area, separate dog and cat wards, isolation room,  lab/pharmacy, puppy training room, grooming and staff amenities.

The colour scheme throughout the vet clinic incorporates white, light grey and dark grey.  These colours feature prominently in the reception, waiting area, consult/grieving rooms and corridor. Grey timber plank flooring contrasts with the crisp white walls and dark trims on the doors and door frames.

The remaining rooms have vinyl flooring due to their clinical nature – i.e. surgery, dry/wet treatment and imaging areas. Grey splashbacks feature throughout the practice, complemented by light wood cabinetry and clean white matt counter tops.

Access into the hospital was non-compliant for disabled clients. Elite worked with the relevant authorities to reconfigure and construct a new accessible entrance.

Jennie Heslop, the owner of Ripponlea Vet said of the fitout process:

Elite were a great team – they ensured the stressful build process was as smooth and seamless as it could possibly be.
