After securing a premises on Sherwood Road, new medical centre Grow Medical reached out to Elite Fitout Solutions for assistance with designing and fitting out the space. The owner wanted to create a medical centre that was warm and welcoming; the sort of place someone goes to feel better, almost like a café. His vision was for a Danish design look with plenty of natural light and an organic twist.
Collaborating with Elite’s design team, the owner was quickly able to see his idea developed into a reality that fully reflected everything he was looking for.
Elite’s realisation of this aesthetic vision is particularly seen in the front of house and waiting area. Crisp contrasting white and “granny smith” green (both colours on the practice’s logo) are mixed with warm timber in the reception desk and other furniture. The colours and timber provided an organic flavour exactly like the owner described, creating a space that’s simultaneously fun for children and relaxing for adults.
The practice’s relatively small space presented some challenges for design in terms of balancing both functional and aesthetic goals.
In particular, its square shape meant there were internal rooms without easy access to natural light. This challenge was overcome by placing frosted glazing panels in strategic locations. This meant that every room could enjoy the medical practice’s natural, organic feel and benefit from natural light.
The biggest potential challenge for the Grow Medical fitout was a tight timeframe. Elite needed to deliver the fitout in just six weeks, as Grow Medical had new employees scheduled to begin work the same week as the scheduled handover.
Careful planning, sensible buffers and years of experience meant Elite was able to deliver the fitout project on-time. This ensured zero disruption for the medical centre, which opened its doors as scheduled.
